Perfectly Dry Martini

INGREDIENTS:

  • 6 oz good gin (Hendrick’s or Tanqueray)
  • 1 cap-ful dry vermouth  (use the cap on your bottle of vermouth to measure)
  • Garnish (either lemon twist or olives – bleu cheese stuffed are a favorite of mine, as are garlic stuffed)
  • 8 oz martini glass (yes, I have several)
  • Ice (enough to fill a cocktail shaker 3/4 of the way full plus the martini glass)
  • Cocktail Shaker

DIRECTIONS:

Fill martini glass with ice and add enough water to cover ice, set aside while making martini.

Fill cocktail shaker 3/4 full with ice, add gin and vermouth.  Shake until well blended.

Empty iced water from martini glass, strain gin and vermouth mixture into the martini glass.

Garnish as desired.

Enjoy – repeatedly.
